Samriddhi Foundation Nepal played a pivotal and supportive role in successfully organizing 3rd IAWRT international women’s film festival in Nepal. Notably, the festival honored esteemed individuals such as Kalpana Maharjan the renowned mountaineer, Devika Bandana a very famous Nepali singer and a world record holder, recording 11 songs during suffering from breast cancer and the trailblazing first Nepali women film director. The motive of the event was to bring out social issues through women’s lens and also encourage women filmmakers. The event was graced by the distinguished presence of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal, Indira Rana Magar and the Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, who served as chief guests. Adding to the significance, the former Inspector General of Police, Sarbendra Khanal contributed as a special guest. The festival, held on November 25th, marked the commencement of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence. In the spirit of raising awareness and advocating to stop violence against women, Samriddhi Foundation continues its dedicated efforts.
