Renuka Subedi is not just a journalist by profession; she is a living story of courage, endurance and unwavering hope. The founder of Prakriti Films and Media and the face behind its media channel, Renuka has spent her life giving voice to stories of society. Today, her own life stands as one of the most emotional and inspiring stories of survival.
Several years ago, tragedy struck her life in the most devastating way. Renuka lost her husband in a sudden bike accident. He was the sole earning member of the family at the time. Left alone with a toddler son, her world turned upside down. The emotional pain was immense, but the financial struggle that followed made life even more difficult. As a single mother, she faced extreme hardship just to meet basic needs. Before she could recover from this loss, fate dealt another cruel blow.
Renuka was diagnosed with cervical cancer. The long and painful treatment drained her completely, emotionally, physically and financially. There came a point when she was broken, helpless and struggling to survive. During this darkest phase of her life, a few kind-hearted people stepped forward to support her. With their help, her own inner strength and an unbreakable will to live for her child, Renuka fought cancer and she survived.
Just when life seemed to be slowly stabilizing, another health crisis emerged in 2025. Renuka discovered that one of her kidneys was no longer functioning and that she would need to undergo surgery. Once again, financial limitations stood as a painful barrier to her treatment. Despite her strength, she found herself searching for help.
At this most critical moment of her life, Samriddhi Foundation Nepal, under the banner of “S.H.E. is Success” (Safety, Health, Education) emerged as a true bridge of hope. The foundation played a key role in connecting Renuka with hospitals, enabling several essential medical tests to be conducted free of cost. Alongside this, Samriddhi Foundation Nepal also extended direct financial support and helped connect her with compassionate individuals who came forward to support her treatment expenses. Beyond medical and financial assistance, the foundation stood firmly by her side with unwavering moral support, encouragement and empathy constantly reminding her that she is not alone in this difficult journey and that her fight is shared by many who believe in her strength and resilience.
Today, Renuka Subedi looks forward with hope. She dreams of regaining her health, standing strong once again and returning to the field of journalism that she loves so deeply. Her journey reflects not only personal resilience but also the power of collective support and humanity. We extend our heartfelt wishes for Renuka Subedi’s speedy recovery. May she regain full health, continue her journalistic journey and keep inspiring many with her strength, courage and unwavering spirit.
